Saturday was an important day in Nathaniel’s life: his first haircut. It all started when my old beard trimmer went belly up on me and I was stuck without a way to trim my beard. So off we go to Wal-Mart to buy a replacement when what should we see but a replacement that also cuts hair. The boys were in for it. Muwahaha. Sorry. So after charging it up, we strapped the boys down and I did my worst.
No! Not that! Anything but that!
Here is the victim after the first few passes. Does he look apprehensive to you? He should…
Here Timothy offers a spoon of encouragement.
Is it too late to put this back on?
And here are the boys after their haircuts
Aren’t they handsome? Look out, ladies.
Both of the boys did very well, although we bribed Timothy with crackers and peanut butter and the Farm Animals DVD. Trust me, this is much easier than taking them to the barbershop and listening to Timothy scream. It also saved us about 10 bucks even after paying for the trimmer. Score!

Way to go with the DIY haircuts! If you’ve already saved 10 bucks after just one round, think of the ongoing savings!
It looks like you all had fun in the process and the results are terrific. Two handsome guys – can’t beat that!
At $15 a pop, that’s about $300 a year. Take that, so-called “Supercuts”!
Phew!!! At first it was beginning to look like a mullet!!! Now you see why I always cut all of our family’s hair!!! These are really cute pictures! Nathaniel seems to take it all in stride. Good job, Dad!
Thanks for the scripture, Erin. I am clinging to lots of scriptures these days. Praise God for His protection.
